With deep sorrow and submission to the will of Allah, we announce the passing of the eminent Professor Ibrahim Abdelrazag Al-Tayeb, who departed to the mercy of Allah yesterday, September 15th 2025 in the United Arab Emirates.
Professor Al-Tayeb was among the pioneering founders of mathematics education in Sudan and served as the first Dean of the School of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Khartoum. He made outstanding contributions to the establishment and advancement of mathematics curricula and played a central role in educating and mentoring generations of scientists and academics within Sudan and abroad.
His distinguished career extended well beyond national boundaries. Through his scientific research, participation in international conferences, and supervision of numerous graduate students, he contributed significantly to the global academic community. Many of his students have gone on to become leading researchers, professors, and academic leaders in universities and research institutions worldwide. His enduring scholarly and intellectual legacy will remain a lasting testament to his dedication and service.
We pray that Allah, the Almighty, grants him His infinite mercy and forgiveness, accepts his knowledge and contributions as an ongoing charity on his behalf, and bestows patience and solace upon his family, students, and colleagues.

بقلوب مؤمنة بقضاء الله وقدره، ننعى ببالغ الحزن والأسى الأستاذ الجليل البروفيسور إبراهيم عبدالرزاق الطيب، الذي انتقل إلى رحمة الله يوم امس الاثنين 2025/9/15م بدولة الإمارات.
الراحل من الروّاد المؤسسين لتعليم الرياضيات في السودان، وكان أول عميد لـ مدرسة العلوم الرياضية بجامعة الخرطوم، وأسهم بجهدٍ وافرٍ في تأسيس وتطوير مناهج الرياضيات وتخريج أجيال من العلماء والأساتذة داخل السودان وخارجه.
لم يقتصر أثره على السودان وحده، بل امتد إلى الساحة الأكاديمية العالمية من خلال أبحاثه العلمية ومشاركاته في المؤتمرات الدولية، إضافةً إلى إشرافه على عشرات الطلاب الذين أصبحوا بدورهم قادة وباحثين بارزين في الجامعات ومراكز البحوث حول العالم. لقد ترك إرثًا علميًا ومعرفيًا خالدًا سيبقى شاهدًا على عطائه.
نسأل الله أن يتغمّده بواسع رحمته، ويغفر له، ويجعل علمه وعطاءه صدقة جارية له، وأن يلهم أهله وطلابه وزملاءه جميل الصبر وحسن العزاء
