يَا أَيَّتُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ ارْجِعِي إِلَى رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَرْضِيَّةً، فَادْخُلِي فِي عِبَادِي وَادْخُلِي جَنَّتِي

بقلوب خاشعة وراضية بقضاء الله وقدره
ننعي ببالغ الحزن والأسى وفاة البروفيسور عاصم إبراهيم المغربي رئيس شعبة الأحياء المائية الأسبق ومؤسس جمعية حماية البيئة السودانية، والذي لبّى نداء ربه يوم الاثنين 18/8/2025 بمدينة قرينسبورو – ولاية كارولاينا الشمالية. الفقيد زوج السيدة علوية جمال محمد أحمد، ووالد كل من الدكتور دريد بدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، والدكتور أحمد بمستشفى سنسيناتي بولاية أوهايو، و أ. نتيلة، والمرحومة الدكتورة أمل، وهو صهر كل من عمر عبد الفتاح بمدينة قرينسبورو ومحمد الفاتح بالمملكة العربية السعودية نسأل الله العلي القدير أن يغفر له ويرحمه رحمة واسعة، وأن يكرم نزله ويوسّع مدخله، وأن يجعل قبره روضة من رياض الجنة، وأن يبدله داراً خيراً من داره وأهلاً خيراً من أهله، وأن يثبته عند السؤال، ويجعل ما قدم في ميزان حسناته، ويجمعه مع النبيين والصديقين والشهداء والصالحين وحسن أولئك رفيقاً، كما نسأله تعالى أن يلهم أهله وذويه جميل الصبر وحسن العزاء سيشيع إلى مثواه بعد صلاة الظهر يوم الإثنين 18 أغسطس بمسجد

With deep sorrow and acceptance of the will of Allah, the family and colleagues of Professor Asim Ibrahim Al-Maghribi announce his passing on Monday 18/8/2025 in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA.
Professor Al-Maghribi was the former Head of the Department of Aquatic Biology and the Founding President of the Sudanese Environmental Protection Society. His life was devoted to scholarship, environmental stewardship, and community service, leaving behind a lasting legacy in Sudan and abroad.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alawia Gamal Mohamed Ahmed, his children Dr. Duraid (United Arab Emirates), Dr. Ahmed (Cincinnati, Ohio), and Ms. Nuatila; he was also the father of the late Dr. Amal. He is mourned as well by his extended family, including his brothers-in-law Omar Abdel Fattah (Greensboro) and Mohamed Al-Fateh (Saudi Arabia).
Funeral prayers will be held on Monday, August 18, following the Dhuhr (noon) prayer at the Islamic Center of Greensboro, after which he will be laid to rest. Condolences will be received at the Sudanese House and at the family residence in Greensboro.
We pray that Allah, the Most Merciful, grants him forgiveness, envelops him in His infinite mercy, makes his grave a garden from the gardens of Paradise, and grants his family patience and solace during this time of grief.
“Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.”
