The 29th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP29) was hosted in Baku, Azerbaijan, bringing together global leaders, policymakers, and experts to address pressing climate challenges. As part of the Regional Climate Assistance Action Project, Sudanese participants showcased impactful policy proposals to advance climate resilience and sustainable development in Sudan.

The presentations included:

1. Policies for Combating Desertification by Ms. Alawia Sir Al-Khatim .
2. Impact of War on Climate Action by Ms. Esra Rahama.
3. Climate Change Impacts and Mitigation Policy in Kassala State by Mr. Shadi Waldo.
4. National Policy for Enhancing Flood Resilience and Protecting Vulnerable Communities by Mr. Mujtaba Hussein.
5. Financing Climate Adaptation in Sudan’s Agricultural Sector.

These critical policy contributions emphasize Sudan’s commitment to climate resilience, despite ongoing challenges, and call for global solidarity to support sustainable development efforts in the region.
