The Margaret Thatcher Scholarship Trust will provide fully-funded scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate education; two or three
undergraduate scholarships each year and at least three post-graduate scholarships. For 2017 entry, there will be three post-graduate
scholarships in Engineering, English and Law, which will cover 100% of University and college fees and a grant for living costs of at least
£14,296. The following year, the subjects will be Modern Languages, Chemistry and Medical Sciences.
As special consideration will be given to students from Qatar and Arab countries for some of these scholarships, I wondered if you would be
able to advise any students that you know - who are considering postgraduate study (Masters or DPhil) in Law, Engineering and English -
of this exceptional opportunity to assist with their education.
While the aims of the scholarships are to foster academic excellence, there is an underlying ethos of supporting students who have a
determination to succeed and have overcome adversity in some way, whether that be educationally, health-wise and disability or culturally.
In addition, there will be a wider personal and professional development programme for the college’s student community as a whole, which we
hope will equip students to excel in their chosen field and future career.
